THE RESEARCH
Ideas tested in medicine.
We study how AI, medical technology, and the organization of healthcare shape clinical decisions and care. Our work connects clinical evidence with the practical questions of implementation, access, and business.
01Innovation & AI
We evaluate language models across the clinical workflow, from an initial differential diagnosis to testing and treatment. Our studies examine reasoning, reliability, and the limits of performance when clinical information is incomplete.
Clinical workflow study · JMIR ↗ 02Medical technology
We develop and evaluate tools around clinical needs, including medical devices, multilingual communication, and applications of generative AI. Clinical usefulness and the realities of implementation guide the work.
03How healthcare invents
We create certificate courses and study the conditions that help clinicians turn problems into useful inventions: practical training, intellectual property, incentives, and connections across disciplines. We created MESH Core, the healthcare innovation bootcamp at Mass General Brigham, run in Boston and globally - mostly recently multiple editions in in 2026.
Innovation in medical training · Nature Biotechnology ↗ 04Operations & access
We examine imaging use, care pathways, and disparities in access. Analyses of clinical activity help identify delays, avoidable work, and opportunities to improve how care is delivered.
Imaging utilization research · JACR ↗ 05The business of medicine
Our collaborative research with Harvard Business School examines the organizational and economic conditions behind healthcare innovation. We study incentives, commercialization, and how institutions support new technology.
